Born under a happy June moon, Elizabeth Ingrid Hauser leads a life of creative adventure. In addition to being a toy designer, craft book writer and inventor, she also fancies herself a mermaid and deep sea explorer. Many good-natured friends humor her in this fantasy. Her artistic career began at the age of 5 when she decided to sell drawings and water (about 20 years ahead of the trend) by the side of the road. She then broadened her skill set by crafting ridiculous outfits and habitats for her two darling cats. Photos of these creations remain a treasured part of the family collection. On the move from day one, Elizabeth grew up in Virginia, Taiwan, California, Minnesota, the Philippines and Illinois. As an adult, she studied for a semester in France and taught art for a year in Thailand. She now resides in an impossibly pink and green apartment in Brooklyn, New York with her cranky yet adorable cat Sassafras. Passions include kokeshi dolls, animal themed clothing and furniture, mythology, travel, winter sports, jewelry, chandeliers, cultural aesthetics, shipwrecks, costume & set design, ghost stories, haunted castles, vintage toys, folk art, ruins, fairy tales, tea cups and a vast patchwork of other genres.
